The following research titled as "Viability of the alternative control of Spodoptera frugiperda, in the cultivation of hard yellow corn (Zea mays L.) Variety INIA 622. in the E.E.A. El Porvenir "with the objective of determining the viability of the alternative control of Spodoptera frugiperda in the cultivation of hard yellow corn with biol, entomopathogen (Beauveria bassiana), a biocide (Neem oil). The work was carried out in the E. E. A. "El Porvenir" -SM, a completely randomized blocks design (DBCA) was used, consists of 9 treatments and 4 repetitions. The results obtained were processed and analyzed using the statistical program InfoStad. The results of control efficiency obtained after the evaluations were carried out were T2 = 84.95%; T3 = 80.79%; T4 = 86.39%; T5 = 76.97%; T6 = 82.66% T7 = 90.4%; T8 = 91.82%. The treatments that reported the highest yields were T3: Beauveria bassiana and T7: Tracer with 5 760 and 5 730 kg / ha, and the best B / C were T3 and T4 with 3.67 and 2.61. From this, I conclude that entomopathogens, biocides and biol are important for the increase of productivity and control of Spodoptera fugiperda in the cultivation of corn, being this alternative for the use of organic fertilizers and insecticides.
