The following research work seeks to mitigate negative effects generated fecal sludge from simple traditional latrine, based on applying two treatments, efficient microorganisms (E.M) and ash. The treatment with application of EM is obtained BOD5 at the beginning 2200 mg / L and at the end 55 mg / L, COD at the beginning 2748 mg / L and at the end 100 mg / L, phosphates at the beginning 14 mg / L and at the end 3 mg / L, nitrates at the beginning of 25 mg / L and at the end of 2 mg / L, thermotolerant coliforms at the beginning of 8540 CFU / 100ml and at the end of 270 CFU / 100ml, total coliforms at the beginning with 12 231 CFU / 100ml and at the end of 632 CFU / 100ml, achieving a removal efficiency of BOD5 97.5%, COD 96.4%, phosphates 78.6%, nitrates of 92.0%, thermotolerant coliforms of 96.8% and total coliforms 94.8%. In the case of T ° and pH, it increased from 24.1 ° C to 27.8 ° C and the pH from 5.3 to 8.9. With application of ash, BOD5 is obtained at the beginning 2351 mg / L and at the end of 457 mg / L, COD at the beginning 2833 mg / L and at the end of 521 mg / L, phosphates 15 mg / L and at the end of 5 mg / L, nitrates at the beginning 27 mg / L and at the end of 12 mg / L, thermotolerant coliforms at baseline 8620 CFU / 100ml and at the end of 845 CFU / 100ml, total coliforms at baseline with 12 318 CFU / 100ml and at the end 1 018 CFU / 100ml reaching an efficiency of removal of BOD5 80.6%, COD 81.61%, phosphates 66.67%, nitrates of 55.6%, thermotolerant coliforms of 90.20% and total coliforms 91.74%. It is worth mentioning that there were parameters such as the T ° that increased 24.5 ° C to 26 ° C and the pH from 5.3 to 7.8. It is stated that there is a significant difference between treatments.
