The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between family climate and depression in older adults with Type II diabetes mellitus. Elderly Program - Morales Health Center. May to October 2021. This was a quantitative, non-experimental, simple descriptive, cross-sectional study, the sample consisted of 160 older adults who attend the program for the elderly at the Morales Health Center, the survey was used as a technique and RH Questionnaire (FES) was used as an instrument for the independent variable (Family Climate). Moos, B.S. Moos and E.J. Trickeet (1989), and the Zung Depression Scale for the dependent variable (Depression). Results: Regarding the family climate variable, it can be concluded that in the Family Relations dimension, 57.5% (92) of the older adults with diabetes mellitus type II of the elderly program - Morales Health Center, have a medium level, followed by 28.8% (46) with a high level and 13.8% (22) with a low level. In the Personal Development dimension, 53.1% (85) of the older adults have a medium level, 34.4% (55) have a high level and 12.5% (20) have a low level. Finally, in the Stability dimension, 65.6% (105) of the older adults had a medium level, followed by 24.4% (39) with a high level and 10.0% (16) with a low level. A total of 53.8% (86) presented situational depression, followed by 25.0% (40) presented ambulatory depression, 13.1% (21) presented emotional disorder and 8.1% (13) did not present depression. Conclusion: there is a significant relationship (p<0.016) between the variables Family Social Climate and depression in older adults with Type II diabetes mellitus, Elderly Program - Morales Health Center. May to October 2021.
