This research entitled "Relationship of the Law on Solid Waste Management and the right to live in a balanced and adequate environment in the district of Tarapoto, 2019". The main objective was to determine the relationship between the Law on Solid Waste Management and the right to live in a balanced and adequate environment, for which the legal basis on the Solid Waste Management Law in all its dimensions has been investigated; in the same way, the constitutional right to live in a balanced and adequate environment in all its dimensions. The type of investigation is basic of descriptive level and non-experimental design, whose sample was composed by the 367 inhabitants of the city of Tarapoto, for the data collection the survey was used as a technique and a questionnaire as the instrument. Having as main results that 53% of respondents present a level of regular knowledge of the Law on Solid Waste Management; according to their theories, 50% of the respondents indicate that they know regularly, according to their classification, 53% of the respondents are efficient in the classification of their solid waste, 59% of the respondents present regular knowledge and management of the management stages of solid waste. On the other hand, 53% of respondents indicate that the guarantee of the right to live in a balanced and adequate environment in all its dimensions in the district of Tarapoto is medium. The main conclusion was that there is a positive relationship between the Law on Solid Waste Management and the right to live in a balanced and adequate environment, since correlational statistics presented a value of (0.934), with a bilateral significance of (0.000), which indicates that there is a very strong positive correlation, leading to accept the research hypothesis.
