The following study aimed to “Determine the effectiveness of intraumbilical oxytocin administration, in the active management of the third parturition period of births attended at the Morales Health Center in the months of July to December 2017; An experimental-explanatory study, classic pre-test design - post-test with two contrast groups was carried out, the population and sample was made up of 30 parturient women attended at the Morales Health Center, with a 95% confidence level, and selected Randomly, of those that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the survey technique was used and as an instrument the questionnaire was used. The results The parturient women with administration of intraumbilical and intraumbilical oxytocin had no significant differences and were characterized by being between 16 and 23 years old with 47%, secondary education 73%, marital status 80%, 100% housewife occupation, Origin province of San Martín. According to the obstetric characteristics, the gestational age 39 weeks of gestation stand out, the administration of intraumbilical oxytocin occurred between 2 min and no more than 12 minutes, there was no placental retention nor was manual extraction of placenta, complete ovular membranes 97%. The administration of intraumbilical oxytocin has had an influence on the volume of bleeding, 93% of parturient women have had bleeding between 50 and 165 ml. at delivery. The pain measured based on contractibility and intensity, recording intensities of +, ++ and +++, it was determined that the pain with the highest incidence in 70% is that of ++, this based on the administration of intraumbilical oxytocin, pain was also felt in +++ in 30% of parturient women. However, with intramuscular oxytocin the bleeding was 50-165 ml 63% and contractility and intensity of ++ 80% followed by +++ 17%. In conclusion the administration of intraumbilical oxytocin is effective in delivery, according to the variables of time, bleeding and intensity, of the parturient women treated at the Morales Health Center.
