The final report of the thesis entitled “Redesign of the Drinking Water System of the town of Churuzapa, to solve the supply of the town”, was performed at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, professional school of Civil Engineering of the National University of San Martin - Tarapoto. This thesis is presented in order that the village of Churuzapa has a proper drinking water system, for this reason the redesign of the drinking water system has been carried out, to improve the health and welfare of the villagers. Therefore, the basic studies such as topography and others should be considered, given that at present the water supply is inefficient. The research project is aimed at solving and reducing the problems by carrying out a real and quantitative diagnosis of the locality with regard to the quality and demand of water for human consumption. A hydraulic design of the water service was developed to supply the required demand, in addition to a treatment and an adequate regular control based on the results obtained from the physical-chemical and bacteriological analysis of the water resource, as well as its use at the catchment point. The hydraulic design of the water service is based on knowledge of hydraulic calculations, acquired in the classrooms of the university, as well as topographic studies for the surface of the system and fluid mechanics that establish the fixed and important parameter, which is the total of the beneficiary population. With this data, the design flow required to satisfy the consumption of the inhabitants was determined. A simulation of the system was carried out with the WaterCAD V8i program, where the operation was verified and the most optimal and satisfactory results were obtained. This research project was generated as a result of the need to improve the water supply for consumption, increase the supply and supply demand, as well as increase the network of basic drinking water service in the village of Churuzapa, district of Rumizapa - San Martin. This service is one of the most fundamental and important for the subsistence of the inhabitants, since the villgae has 243 houses with a total of 509 inhabitants. In addition, there are 02 educational institutions, 01 chapel and 01 medical center that will benefit from this project.
