The study was conducted in order to evaluate the response of yield and quality of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) variety Great Lakes 659, with the application of organic and chemical fertilizer. The objective is to analyze the agronomic behavior in yield and quality of the crop to determine the favorable response of the application of organic fertilizer based on seaweed and chemical fertilizer in the district of Lamas, to also know its incidence in the productivity and to carry out the economic analysis of the crop in the district of Lamas, San Martin Region geographically located to a South Latitude 06º 20' 15", West Longitude 76º 30' 45", to an altitude of 835 m.s.n.m. which belongs to the tropical dry forest life zone. A randomized Block Design of three blocks, five treatments and fifteen experimental units was used. The fertilizers were applied in a foliar way, at the doses of 1 and 2 liters/ha of organic fertilizer based on seaweed and 1 and 2 kg/ha of chemical fertilizer, at the times indicated by their respective technical data sheets and/or under the recommendations of their respective commercial houses. The variables evaluated were: plant height, number of leaves, neck diameter, plant weight, fresh root weight, dry root weight, production yield and microbiological analysis of the product. The highest number of sheets was presented by treatment 4 (T4), with a value of 26.1 number of sheets. The largest neck diameter presented in the experiment was treatment 4 (T4) with 1,53 cm. The highest plant weight was obtained from treatment 4 (T4) with a value of 1,66 kg. For the variable fresh root weight, treatment 4 (T4) with 6,8 g. The variable dry weight of root treatment 4 (T4) obtained 3,43 g. The highest yield was obtained from treatment 4 (T4) showing a value of 41 462,5 kg/ha. The economic analysis presented a favorable value for treatment 4 (T4) with the application of chemical fertilizer 20-20-20.
