In recent years in Peru, there has been much emphasis on road conservation, but this is not properly develop, due to lack of good management, which means that the roads have to go through a state of excessive deterioration, generating in the long term the rehabilitation or total reconstruction of the road, the latter being very onerous for the State. In effect, road rehabilitation can reach prices that, depending on ground geographical characteristics and project technical scope, it could range among 600 thousand and one million dollars per kilometer, so the expense in road preservation (conservation) is always preferable against spending so many resources to periodic rehabilitations, without measuring results, compared to the implementation of an adequate road maintenance management. In this investigation the road section; Lamas - Emp.PE-5N to (Bridge Bolivia), with a 14,180 km, was analyzed, which served as an application model of a proper road conservation management, which will reduce costs in road maintenance and vehicular operation; field work and information was collected from the Regional Direction of Transport and Communications of San Martin, the proposal was finally presented, explaining how road conservation management model works and how it allows cost reduction. The following research, added to the actions of the Road Administration Entities in directing work, with the purpose of preserving the road in optimum conditions and developing a culture of preventive conservation, which avoids the premature deterioration of the roads, through routine and periodic interventions in the opportune moment, to maintain the roads in favorable conditions of free transit.
