The aim of this thesis was to determine the sociodemographic, clinical and serological characteristics of dengue fever in patients from 0 to 18 years old attended at Hospital II - 2 Tarapoto from January to December 2019. The research was of basic type, retrospective observational descriptive level and non-experimental cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 122 patients from 0 to 18 years old diagnosed with dengue fever and who have been treated at Hospital II - 2 Tarapoto between January and December 2019. Direct observation and the data sheet were used as the data collection technique and instrument, respectively. The results showed that 51.64 % of the cases belonged to the masculine sex, while 48.36 % belonged to the feminine sex. 12.30 % were 13 years old (older), while 0.8 % were 4 years old (younger). Adolescents accounted for 48.4 %, 38.5 % in childhood and 13.1 % in early childhood. Of the cases reported, 83.6% had no history of dengue fever, while 16.4% had a history of dengue fever. In terms of signs, 100 % of the cases had fever. 35.2 % had unusual bleeding. 56.6 % had vomiting. 8.2% had diarrhea. In symptoms; 91.8 % had eye pain. 4.1 % had drowsiness. 86.9 % had headache. 8.6 % had rashes. 85.2 % had joint pain. It is concluded that the cases occurred more frequently in males in the city of Tarapoto, with fever, eye and joint pain being the most frequent signs and symptoms.
