The present research was carried out at the Professional School of Civil Engineering of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the National University of San Martin with the purpose of obtaining the degree of Civil Engineer. The objective was to determine the bearing capacity of the soil in the urban area of the district of Habana, province of Moyobamba, department of San Martin, and to elaborate a virtual and interactive map corresponding to the zoning of the bearing capacity of the soils, according to the results obtained from the same urban area. The methodology used began with the selection and determination of 22 sampling points, carrying out excavations to a depth of 3.00m, taking the unaltered samples to be brought to the laboratory, where, through the established procedures, studies were carried out to determine the physical properties of the soils. The results were used to determine the classification of the soils; triaxial tests were also carried out on the selected samples to determine parameters that would allow the determination of the bearing capacity sought and that would finally allow the preparation of the required zoning map. As a result, relevant information was obtained for the different samples, such as granulometry, Atterberg limits, specific weight, SUCS and AASHTO classification of the soils, triaxial test results that provide the values of the angle of internal friction and cohesion, all key inputs to calculate the bearing capacity of the soil by the Terzaghi method, whose values vary from 0.58 kg/cm2 and 1.76 kg/cm2. Subsequently, using Arcgis software and a scale of 0.25 kg/cm2 as a range, plotted in color, it was possible to plot the different points with the bearing capacity values obtained, thus creating an interactive virtual map of bearing capacity for the soils under study. With this, the hypothesis formulated for the research was contrasted and answered positively, there by validating it.
