Soil analysis is a fundamental tool to determine soil fertility and to determine the amount of nutrients necessary for coffee cultivation. For this reason, the objective of the research was to determine the factors of soil analysis in the fertilization of coffee in the province of San Ignacio, Cajamarca. The present research followed a descriptive and exploratory non-experimental approach, based on reliable sources and bibliographic background of the last 5 years. It was based on the description of socioeconomic and edaphoclimatic factors, availability of resources, access to technologies, land history, cultural aspects. The edaphoclimatic factors were also analyzed, such as climate, topography, soil, vegetation and vegetation practices, concluding that it is fundamental to consider the socioeconomic and edaphoclimatic aspects when carrying out soil analysis for coffee fertilization, since this contributes significantly to increasing the productivity and quality of the crop, as well as reducing costs and minimizing environmental impacts. Unfortunately, producers in the province of San Ignacio do not perform these analyses, due to lack of knowledge and access to them, since there is no policy to promote the adoption of these essential practices; the comparative economic analysis shows that soil analysis is a critical factor for the fertilization of the coffee crop. Although production costs increase with soil analysis compared to without soil analysis, the profitability of the crop is significantly higher (86.23%) when soil analysis is performed compared to the profitability obtained without soil analysis.
