The present research work was conducted during the period September 2015 - January 2016 at the E.E.A "El Porvenir", in the District of Juan Guerra, province of San Martin (South latitude 06°35'28'' West longitude 76°18'47'' and altitude 230 m. a. s. n. m. m.). The objective was to identify new hybrids of improved adaptability with superior characteristics in grain yield and quality in relation to the hybrids being cultivated (Dekalb-7088, Pioneer-30F35) and to determine the B/C ratio. A Completely Randomized Block Design (CSBD) with 8 treatments (SA-345; SA-282; SA-336; SA-501; SA-333; TF-222; DEKALB-7088; PIONER-30F75) and 4 replicates was used. The main yield factors were evaluated. The sowing spacing was 0.80 * 0.40 m. with a density of 20,000 plants per hectare. The experimental soil was clay loam, slightly acidic (pH: 6.76), with a medium organic matter content (3.66%). Fertilization was made using the dose of 200-150-100 kg of N-P2O5-K2O/ha as required by the crop to obtain a yield of 10 tons. According to the crop requirement to obtain the proposed productivity and the result of the soil analysis, the total N application is 402 kg/ha, 359 kg/ha of P2O5 and 422 kg/ha of K2O, applying 50% of nitrogen, together with all the phosphorus and potassium at 10 days after sowing and the remaining % of nitrogen at 35 days. Higher grain yield (at 14% moisture) was obtained with the SA-336 hybrid (9.92 tn/ha) and the economic analysis (B/C ratio) also showed good yield potential and is economically profitable (greater than 50%). The parameters that contributed to excellent yields are: plant height, leaf area and number of leaves per plant, all of them with a positive trend line in relation to yield. These results were determined by linear correlation analysis. Thus, it is concluded that hybrid SA-336 is a promising hybrid cultivar for the climatic conditions of the San Martin region.
