The objective of the research was to use Moringa oleifera seed as a natural biocoagulant to improve the quality of water from the Ahuashiyacu stream. A random sampling (convenience sampling) of the water was carried out, recording its initial physicochemical parameters; then, using the jar test, the coagulation process was carried out, using Moringa oleifera seed-based biocoagulant in dosages of 40 mg/L to 140 mg/L, then a fast mixing of 100 rpm for one minute and a slow mixing of 40 rpm for 10 minutes was carried out, and sedimentation was left for 5 to 30 minutes. The highest turbidity removal efficiency was 97.06% with an optimum biocoagulant dose of 100 mg/L, this is due to the presence of dimeric cationic proteins. The apparent color reduction was 92.3%, pH and alkalinity had no significant effect, hardness decreased 12% of its initial value, conductivity and total dissolved solids increased significantly due to the presence of sodium chloride ions contained in the biocoagulant solution. The use of these seeds as a natural biocoagulant improved water quality; it proved to be an effective alternative to be applied in coagulation processes in water treatment plants; it is sustainable and environmentally friendly.
