The objective of this research was to determine the incidence between the determining factors of the net financial margin and the profitability of BBVA, period 2008 - 2018. The study was performed under a descriptive-explanatory design, being the sample formed by the financial documentation belonging to BBVA during the period 2008 - 2018, i.e., a total of 11 years was analyzed. The instruments applied were the documentary analysis guides. Based on all this, and after having processed the information, the following results were obtained: it was observed that in the 2008-2009 period there was a growth due to the fact that in 2008 the operating cost was 0.020, while in 2009 it was 0.025. Something similar happened with the credit risks that presented a decrease in the growth point they had been experiencing since 2008, going from a value of 0.851 in 2014 to 0.761 in 2015. It was concluded that: the determining factors of the net financial margin of BBVA, period 2008 - 2018, have been very changeable, because, in spite of the decrease they may suffer, it seems that they recover in the following years, thus constituting a continuous fluctuation of values. Of the three factors analyzed, it was established that the most consistent in its evolution or development was credit risk due to the fact that this risk ratio has been in constant growth, going from 0.631 in 2008 to 0.891 in 2018.
