The present research aimed to compare the concentration of saponins extracted from the Sapindus saponaria in one hand by Soxhlet extraction and on the other hand by hydroalcoholic mixture. The type of research is basic, with an exploratory level and a cross-sectional experimental design, having as population 6 kg of Sapindus saponaria fruits and as sample the saponins that can be extracted by the Soxhlet method and a hydroalcoholic mixture of Sapindus saponaria fruits. For datas processing, the statistical analysis of homogeneity test was used through the t-test and finally the Pearson correlational statistical process in the SPSS program. The results showed that the hydroalcoholic extraction method is the most effective, because it allowed extracting a greater volume of saponin with a concentrate of 320 ml, while the Soxhlet method obtained a volume of 100 ml, using 3 kg of fruit in both cases. To determine the concentration of saponins by means of the afrosimetric index, a Pearson correlation was performed between the method and the foam level, obtaining a result value of 12.50 cm, demonstrating that the sample contains a large amount of saponins. In addition, the Pearson correlation between the saponin content according to the cost of the solution used in the determination of the afrosimetric index was performed, obtaining a value of 2.17 cm, making it significant as an alternative for formulating a natural detergent that is environmentally friendly and an alternative to classic detergents.
