The present research was carried out in the city of Moyobamba, and its main objective was to determine the areas of risk, vulnerability and environmental danger of the Tumino ravine, generated by anthropogenic activities, since it is located within the urban area of the city. The methodological basis of this study was developed by INDECI and modified by Ruiz, A. et al. (2013) with respect to the consideration and identification of environmental risk zones, using hazard, vulnerability and risk matrices, which are evaluated in zoning maps. Nine danger zones were identified (A-1, A-2, ... A-9), and 54% of the area of the Tumino ravine territory was identified as Very High Danger (VHD), establishing geomorphological phenomena such as landslides with great hydrodynamic force and erosive power, collapsible soils in large proportions (brittle). Regarding the identification of vulnerable zones, three sections are considered (Jr. Alonso de Alvarado blocks 1 - 3; Jr. Callao blocks 1 - 3; Jr. Coronel Bardales and extension), the latter being the one with the largest vulnerable zones. In terms of environmental vulnerability, there are three high-, medium- and low-risk zones with high risk, which represent 37% of the total estimate of the study's area of influence. In conclusion, the present risk and vulnerability zoning study of Tumino Ravine, district and province of Moyobamba, San Martin Region - 2018, has contributed to generate a spatial and environmental analysis and to mitigate possible negative impacts.
