Given the problem of poor quality water consumption in rural areas at the national level, and specific in the town of Carhuapoma where it does not have a water treatment plant for human consumption. Seeing the need of the population, the efficiency of the ceramic filter embedded with colloidal silver in the treatment of water for human consumption was evaluated by analyzing the physical, chemical and microbiological parameters of water, which was applied by means of a pre-experimental design during a period of three months and analyzed their respective efficiency. Where it does have efficiency in water treatment, reducing the amount of pathogenic microorganisms such as total coliforms by up to 99,978%, the reduction was due to the fact that colloidal silver acts as a biostatic agent of bacteria, viruses, etc. In fact the use of the ceramic filter embedded with colloidal silver is a reliable method for water treatment and a solution for people with limited resources who do not have access to drinking water, being a potential danger to society having to consume contaminated water with total and thermo-tolerant coliforms, in this sense they should try to implement in places where the population does not have a water treatment plant and thus be able to prevent many diseases due to contaminated water.
