The present research was developed in the area of influence of the urban area of the district of La Banda de Shilcayo, having as main objective "To determine the levels of carbon monoxide concentration using automatic method in La Banda de Shilcayo 2021". The main instrument used was an automatic analyzer with which the CO concentrations could be determined, as well as the use of data collection cards and a GPS for the location of the sampling points, all of which were of great importance and relevance to achieve the proposed objective, in addition, it should be highlighted that the work was carried out during the covid-19 period. A total of 10 sampling points were determined, which are the most critical areas in the city, where samples were taken during 4 months and the weekly period was in situ. The results showed that the highest concentrations of carbon monoxide were recorded in the fuel stations and in the car stop area, where the highest average concentration for the four months was 296.2 µg/m3 in fuel station 1, followed by 294.5 µg/m3 in the car stop area and 290.0 µg/m3 in fuel station 2. This shows the great influence of the high and continuous vehicular traffic, since the lowest average concentrations were in areas where there was no vehicular traffic, with only dump trucks, machinery and equipment emitting the gas. Similarly, none of the concentrations recorded exceed quality standards, but it is also necessary to take mitigation measures to significantly reduce emissions.
