Parents' critical thinking and self-concept at the pre-primary educational institution 317, Elías Soplín Vargas, Rioja, 2021. The “Critical thinking" and "self-concept" are fundamental psychological concepts in the lives of parents, especially those with preschool children. Critical thinking is a process that involves the objective analysis and evaluation of information to form a judgment, according to Paul and Elder (2006). In the lives of parents, this type of thinking is key to making balanced and informed parenting decisions that encompass aspects such as interaction with their children, responses to their behaviors, and activities that promote their development. On the other hand, self-concept, defined by Shavelson, Hubner and Stanton (1976) as the individual's perception and appraisal of one's own abilities, traits and roles, can impact parents' perception of themselves as caregivers and nurturers. This, in turn, can influence their behavior and attitudes around parenting. A positive self-concept can lead to safer and more effective interactions with children, while a negative self-concept can generate insecurities and less effective behaviors. The purpose of this research was to analyze the relationship between critical thinking and the self-concept of parents at the pre-primary educational institution 317 Monte Carmelo in 2021. The study was conducted in the Elías Soplín Vargas district, Rioja province, during November 2022. A basic research was carried out, with a correlational and descriptive design. Two valid and reliable instruments were applied to 30 parents, constituting a non-probabilistic sample. The data collected were processed and presented in statistical tables and graphs. The results revealed that 83.3% of the participants were housewives. Regarding the "argument evaluation" dimension of critical thinking, 83.4% reached a medium level. Likewise, in the "family" and "personal" dimensions of self-concept, a medium level was obtained, while it was high in the "physical" dimension. In conclusion, 66.7% obtained a medium level between critical thinking and self-concept. Pearson's correlation showed a very high positive coefficient (r=0.915) with a significance level of less than 5% (p=0.000<0.05), indicating the existence of a significant relationship between the two variables.
