The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between stress and work performance of the teaching staff of the educational institution Jesús Alberto Miranda Calle, Moyobamba, 2018. The type of research was applied, with a descriptive level and correlational design and with a population sample of 44 teachers. The procedure consisted in applying the instruments to the selected sample, then the statistical analysis and hypothesis testing were performed using Pearson's correlation coefficient. The results indicate that the labor stress presented by the teaching staff of the educational institution Jesús Alberto Miranda Calle, in the year 2018, is low in 57%, very low in 39%, and medium in 5%; the labor performance presented by the teaching staff of the educational institution Jesús Alberto Miranda Calle, in the year 2018, is very good in 52%, and good in 48%. Finally, it has been concluded that there is a medium or moderate negative relationship between stress and work performance of the teaching staff in the Jesús Alberto Miranda Calle Educational Institution in the city of Moyobamba during the year 2018, with work performance being explained by only 37.31% of variation in relation to work stress scores.
