A first-time mother's knowledge about the care of the healthy neonate can be influenced by a variety of sociodemographic factors. These factors can affect accessibility to information, attitudes towards the care of their babies, and the ability to apply neonatal care practices taught by the nursing professional, which is why the present research aims to determine the relationship between sociodemographic factors and the first-time mother's knowledge about the care of the healthy neonate Hospital II -1 Moyobamba 2024. The methodology to be used was framed within a quantitative approach, basic typology, non-experimental design and correlational level. The population and sample consisted of 66 first-time mothers attended at Hospital II-1 Moyobamba. The data were collected using the survey technique and the questionnaire as an instrument. The results showed that 90.9% of the mothers' level of knowledge was regular and that the following dimensions were also regular: feeding (95.5%), hygiene (98.5%) and complementary care (93.9%). Likewise, sociodemographic factors such as age, marital status and educational level were related to knowledge (Sig< 0.05), which suggests that there are probably socio-cultural and educational influences at play. Meanwhile, the factors that showed no relationship (Sig > 0.05) were: religion, occupation and origin; however, it should be noted that origin is only related to knowledge about hygiene and complementary care, but not to feeding. In conclusion: sociodemographic factors are related to the knowledge of the new mother about the care of the healthy neonate Hospital II -1 Moyobamba 2024.
