The present is a work that had as general objective to describe the importance of humic acids in the cultivation of cocoa in the province of Mariscal Cáceres, San Martín, regarding the methodology, the study was non-experimental of a descriptive and exploratory type, it was used sources and reliable bibliographical background of the latter, for this, the characteristics of humic acids in the cocoa crop were described, and the benefits of the use of humic acid in the cocoa crop, in the province of Mariscal Cáceres, were also identified. San Martin; At the end of the investigation, it was concluded that the application of humic acids can improve the soil structure, increase the availability of nutrients, optimize microbial activity and strengthen the immune system of plants, which contributes to a healthier growth and development of cocoa plants and increased production of high-quality cocoa beans. Specifically, during the dormant stage of cacao, the application of humic acids can be especially beneficial by improving soil structure and increasing the amount of available nutrients. Therefore, the use of humic acids can be a valuable tool to improve soil health and the yield of cocoa crops.
