Epidemiological, clinical and radiological characteristics of femoral diaphysis fractures in children under 18 years old in the Hospital II-2 Tarapoto, 2021 – 2022 Femoral diaphysis fractures originate periods of disability and asymmetry of the affected limb, which is related to a high rate of prolonged pediatric hospitalization. Objective: To determine the epidemiological, clinical and radiological characteristics of femoral diaphysis fractures in children under 18 years of age in Hospital II-2 Tarapoto, 2021 - 2022. Method: the study design is basic, simple descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional. The population size consisted of 37 patients, whereas the sample size was only 34 patients. The data collection form was used as an instrument. Results: femoral diaphysis fractures occurred more frequently in males (67.65%) than in females (32.35%); it was present in 41.18% in the age range of 1 to 4 years; falls from height represented 76.47%, followed by traffic accidents (17.65%) and sports injuries (5.88%); the right side was affected in 67.65%. The type of closed fracture represented 91.18%, pain was present in 100%, deformity in 91.18%; edema in 20.59% and crepitus in 2.94%. The transverse radiological pattern was present in 50%, the oblique in 26.47% and the spiral in 17.65%. Conclusions: In 2-year old patients there was greater presence of this type of fractures, it was more frequent in males (67.65%), the main cause of fractures was falls from height (76.47%), the most affected side was the right (67.65%), the closed fracture (91.18%) was the most frequent as well as the transverse trace (50%).
