Academic stress factors and associated symptoms in nursing students of the UNSM during the academic semester 2022-I The activities or tasks developed in the university process generate different situations that can be perceived as stressful, to a greater or lesser degree, depending on the cognitive and emotional resources of the students to face them, especially among nursing students. These cause symptoms such as loss of energy, increased blood pressure, depression, difficulty concentrating, impatience and nervousness. In this sense, the study aimed to determine the relationship between academic stress factors and associated symptoms in nursing students at UNSM during the 2022-I academic semester. For this purpose, a basic research, quantitative approach, descriptive-correlational level, non-experimental and cross-sectional design was used. The survey technique was used and two questionnaires with a Likert-type rating scale from 1 to 5 were used as instruments. The population consisted of 355 nursing students of the UNSM enrolled in the 2022-I academic semester, and the sample was 183 students, calculated by simple random probability sampling. Descriptive and inferential statistics were also used to answer the research hypothesis using Spearman's correlation coefficient. Among the main results, the strong significant correlation of psychological (r = 0.584), physical (r = 0.513) and behavioral (r = 0.514) symptoms with academic stress factors was demonstrated; it is also confirmed that the methodological deficiencies of the faculty (30.0%) and exams (23.5%) are the academic stress factors with a high level of predominance among UNSM nursing students. It is concluded that there is a strong significant relationship between academic stress factors and associated symptoms in UNSM nursing students during the 2022-I academic semester, at a 99% confidence level.
