The study entitled "Geometric design of the paved road and storm drainage system of the local road Nuevo San Juan - Puerto Alegre L=9 km, District of El Porvenir - Province of San Martin", was carried out at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the National University of San Martin - Tarapoto. One of the main objectives of this thesis is to provide a quick, economical and optimal solution for the maintenance of country roads, since inadequate drainage or lack of drainage often leads to road deterioration and the development of cracks, fissures. This thesis arose from the population's need to solve the problems caused by the poor condition of the local road, which leads producers to pay high freight costs to transport their products to more local markets. As a result, road diagnostic studies and signage studies were conducted in an effort to address these problems. Preliminary field investigations, such as topography, traffic and drainage system studies, have been carried out in order to perform the calculations using the guidelines provided by the road geometric design manual in force at the national level. This allows both light and heavy vehicles to be transported easily and optimally, making it easier for manufacturers to get their products to consumer markets in excellent condition and at a reasonable freight cost. The geometric design of the road, indicating signaling qualities, in order to contribute to the socioeconomic growth of the producers of the Puerto Alegre sector, will allow a greater economic expansion of the district and the area.
