This study was carried out in the Pro-Housing Association "Alto Mayo" in the city of Moyobamba. The general objective is: To evaluate the influence of environmental problems on the quality of life of the population of the Pro-Housing Association "Alto Mayo". To achieve this, it was decided to develop two surveys to the 36 families of the Association regarding the existing environmental problems in the area and the perception they have about their quality of life, both instruments had 10 questions with closed answers. After the application of the surveys the validity and reliability were very high, which allowed us to obtain the following results: the environmental problems in the Pro-Housing Association "Alto Mayo" do affect negatively the quality of life of the inhabitants. The main environmental problems in the area are: lack of water and drainage and poor solid waste management. It was also concluded that 55.6% of the surveyed population believes that the quality of water is good; 82.4% considered that the quality of street lighting is good, 94.4% confirmed that the quality of the drainage system is bad, and 61.1% considered that the quality of the solid waste service is also bad. Finally, it was found that the population lacks an environmental culture, so it was important to train families in the importance of living in a healthy and sustainable community.
