The present work was carried out at the CC. PP. Yarinal, district of Pardo Miguel, San Martin; in order to evaluate the efficiency of a commercial biodigester in the treatment of domestic wastewater in the area. Considering the components of the biodigester, a physical, chemical and biological characterization of the water was performed in order to determine its effectiveness. The experimental part of this study was carried out in the Yarinal sector, where 4 samples were taken weekly for a month in order to perform the respective analyses. As results, the following efficiency data was obtained for each parameter evaluated in the first stage of the preliminary process: BOD - 51.48%, COD - 46%, Total Suspended Solids - 52.84%, Fecal Coliforms (thermotolerant) - 87. 60%, Dissolved Oxygen 269%, Phosphates - 27. It is therefore concluded that the biodigester is not being efficient with the treatment process that was evaluated in a first stage before the absorption pit and does not comply with the specifications of the waste effluent discharge parameters. This may be due to several factors: the biodigester does not meet specifications and is not suitable for treatment, or it is being operated incorrectly. It does, however, reduce the pollutants present in the wastewater, but not as expected.
