The present investigation aims to determine the use of geographic information systems to model the dispersion of atmospheric pollutants, using alternative measurement methods (sensors with programmable plates). The study area is delimited by the urban area of the district of Moyobamba, CO concentrations were measured at thirty randomly selected points and classified according to vehicular flow. An MQ-7 sensor was used in conjunction with an ARDUINO UNO board, collecting average values of: 202.80 ug/m3 at points of high vehicular flow, 82.86 ug/m3 at points of medium vehicular flow and 40.66 ug/m3 at points of low vehicular flow. A DHT-22 sensor was used to obtain the meteorological parameters of temperature and humidity, with an average of 80.03% relative humidity and 23.62 °C of temperature. The average wind speed obtained is 1.3 m/s and the direction is 176°, these measurements correspond to the months of October to December 2020. The obtained data were processed using ArcGIS 10.5 software and a graphical-spatial representation was made by applying a semi-automatic process using the Gaussian dispersion formula expressed in Model Builder, with which the Gaussian plumes were obtained at each CO monitoring point, demonstrating through results the effectiveness of Geographic Information Systems in the study - analysis of the behavior of an atmospheric pollutant in an urban environment and how natural and anthropic variables affect its displacement.
