The purpose of this study was to analyze the impacts of the lack of legal regulation on obstetric violence at the Regional Hospital of Cusco. The alarming absence of legal regulation on obstetric violence has allowed women to suffer physical and psychological abuse, as reported by surveyed women and interviewed specialists. Therefore, the research was conducted under a methodology of basic, qualitative, and legal partner propositional dogmatic design, framed in the geographical space of the Regional Hospital of Cusco, with the study units being 10 specialists in criminal law and 31 women who gave birth at the Regional Hospital of Cusco. In conclusion, among the impacts of the absence of adequate legal regulation on obstetric violence at the Regional Hospital of Cusco are the lack of knowledge of complaint procedures, physical and psychological damage, violation of personal integrity, dehumanizing treatment, unnecessary medical practices, and abuse. The lack of regulation also complicates the reporting of cases of obstetric violence. These findings confirm the hypothesis that the absence of adequate legal regulation impacts women, affecting their physical, psychological, and sexual health, as well as their quality of life and access to justice.
