The objective of this thesis is to carry out a comparative technical and economic analysis of rigid, flexible and semi-rigid pavements to demonstrate the competitiveness between them, obtaining results that allow us to see which is the most convenient alternative. For such study, the shred Los Vencedores C1, C2, C3, C4, C5 and C6, district of the Banda de Shilcayo, province and department of San Martín, has been taken as a reference. Within them we can find flexible pavements, which are made up of the layers of subgrade, subbase, base and asphalt folder, they have shorter periods of useful life the design process of the same, which is aided by two very methods recognized within this area, such as the AASHTO method and the Asphalt Institute method. There are rigid pavements, which can be structured by the sub grade layer, base and concrete slab, which have longer periods of useful life. For the rigid pavement project, the three stages mentioned above were worked for the flexible pavement. Initially, there is the design stage, which includes the AASHTO method and the PCA method (Portland Cement Association). Semi-rigid pavements whose structure is composed of the combination of either asphalt or granular material, as well as treated bases for the subgrade, is applied to roads that have a traffic greater than 1'000,000 EE, in the lane and design period. In this case, the manual considers a design period of 20 years. As a case of application, it will be taken on urban roads in the District of La Banda de Shilcayo, Province and Department of San Martin”, this will allow us to identify which of the alternatives will be executed in the shortest time and the most economical, which will allow authorities and designers decide on one of the alternatives studied for the execution of the different projects. 11 With the application of the methods, it must be designed correctly based on the procedures, obtaining the appropriate levels of security, comfort and serviceability for the traffic volumes, guaranteeing its functionality while fulfilling its useful life. Providing comfort to users and will also influence a better economic and social development for the sector where the study is being proposed. In conclusion, the rigid pavement would be the best option to use technically, although initially it is more expensive in the long term, the maintenance cost is lower.
