This study, titled Attitudes Towards Reading and Reading Comprehension in Sixth-Cycle Students of San Juan Bautista Educational Institution, aimed to determine the relationship between reading attitudes and reading comprehension levels in sixth-cycle students at San Juan Bautista Educational Institution, Buena Vista. A quantitative methodology and a correlational design were employed, which allowed for the analysis of how attitudes relate to the three levels of comprehension: literal, inferential, and critical. This was applied to a sample group of 140 sixth cycle students. The results indicated a significant relationship between positive attitudes towards reading and better performance at the literal and inferential levels. However, no such relationship was found at the critical level. The study concludes that attitudes towards reading are a determining factor in the development of reading skills. It also recommends implementing pedagogical strategies to foster positive reading attitudes, especially in rural contexts.
