Abstract: El objetivo fue determinar la diversidad fitoplanctonica en Puerto Salaverry, para lo cual se georeferenciaron tres estaciones de muestreo, donde se recolectaron muestras superficiales una vez por mes con una red de fitoplancton de 15 μm a bordo de una embarcación con capacidad de carga de 2TM. Se determinaron parámetros fisicoquímicos tales como oxígeno disuelto, temperatura, transparencia y salinidad. Durante la investigación se encontraron 48; 15 Dinophyta y 33 Bacillariophyta. La mayor densidad fue de 20076 cel. /L en enero del 2016 y la menor fue de 8064 cel. /L en diciembre del 2015 y la mayor diversidad de especies se registró en el mes de octubre del 2015 con 20 especies.
