Prostate-specific antigen or kallikrein III is secreted by the prostate gland; this glycoprotein is found in greater quantities in semen and in small quantities in blood. The main objective of the present investigation was to determine the total PSA values and relate these results to risk factors such as age, dysuria, frequency, nocturia, alcohol consumption, smoking, in men aged 40 years or older who received medical care in the Luricocha Health Center between the months of January to June 2022. This research is basic descriptive and the sample was 50 male patients aged 40 years or older with a total PSA test, determined using the chemiluminescence method in serum samples. , 08 samples were found with PSA levels higher than 4 ng/ml, indicating a positivity of 16.0%, the data were processed with the SPSS 27 program, the results of quantitative PSA and age were related, the result indicated a statistically significant association between elevated PSA levels and the age factor, since the older men are, the greater the tendency to present elevated PSA levels, it was statistically evident that elevated PSA levels are not associated with dysuria, frequency, nocturia, alcohol consumption, smoking, it is concluded that age influences total PSA levels.
