ABSTRACT The present research aims to analyze the relationship between the lack of specialized training in mining issues, the absence of internal labor welfare policies, and the fulfillment of the functions of the Social Worker in the mining contractor companies of Hualgayoc during the year 2023. It is proposed that the lack of training and the absence of internal policies directly limit the performance of the Social Worker in this context. The study is framed as a descriptive and causal investigation, with a quantitative methodological approach and a cross-sectional design. The sample included 31 Social Workers and workers from the mining contractor companies, to whom structured questionnaires were administered to collect relevant information. It is believed that the results of this research could contribute to the development of strategies that improve working conditions and the performance of the Social Worker in the mining sector of Hualgayoc. The analysis of the survey results partially supports hypothesis 1, as there is a widespread perception of the importance of specialized training in mining issues, but there are also significant divergences in opinions. The concern about the lack of this training is notable, suggesting that it may limit the Social Worker's ability to understand and address specific challenges in the mining environment. As for hypothesis 2, the findings support the idea that the absence of internal labor welfare policies has a significant impact on the perception and effectiveness of the workers. These results reveal the diversity of perceptions and concerns among workers regarding the importance and impact of specialized training and internal labor welfare policies in their work context.
