ABSTRACT The present research work was carried out in the laboratories of the Executive Direction of National Agrarian Health Service, SENASA located in the control post of the Alto Salaverry district, La Libertad Region. The objectives of this research work was to determine the effect of fumigation with methyl bromide in the control of Ceratitis capitata Wiedemann in Citrus sinensis Osbeck var. Huando, and also determine the time of fumigation of methyl bromide in the fly control of the fruit in orange fruits. The parameter evaluated was the mortality of the larvae of Ceratitis capitata Wiedemann that were infested artificially in Citrus sinensis Osbeck. The results showed that there were significant statistical differences with respect to the effect of methyl bromide fumigation at a concentration of 32 grams / m3 during the exposure of 2 hours (T1), 2.5 hours (T2) and 3 hours (T3) which were expressed in differences in the average number of live and dead larvae of Ceratitis capitata Wiedemann in fruits of Citrus sinensis Osbeck var. Huando. The treatment 3 hours of exposure (T3), stood out for presenting the highest average number of dead larvae of Ceratitis capitata Wiedemann to be fumigated with methyl bromide in SENASA, La Libertad.
