The purpose of this research was to analyze the determining factors that influenced the delinquency of the Mibanco agency in Cajamarca during the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in the year 2020. It used a quantitative approach methodology, with a non-experimental design, an explanatory scope, and an ordinal Logit econometric model. The database, provided by the financial institution, included information on 6065 clients. The results revealed that delinquency remained at relatively controlled levels, with 79.19% of clients not delinquent, 19.57% in initial delinquency and 1.24% in serious delinquency. The ordinal Logit model evidenced that the determinants of delinquency were significant as a whole (Wald Chi 2 = 116.592; p-value = 0.000), while, at the individual level, the number of credit operations (coefficient = 0.524; p < 0.05), level of education (coefficient = -0.170; p < 0.05), and experience in the business (coefficient = -0.016; p < 0.05) were the statistically significant determinants of delinquency. That is, a higher number of transactions increases the probability of belonging to higher delinquency categories, a higher educational level and more experience in business reduce this probability. The study concluded that the determinants of delinquency in the agency and context analyzed were the number of credit operations, the type of business, demographic and socioeconomic characteristics, and experience in the activity carried out by the clients.
