ABSTRACT The present investigation was conducted in the “Maicero” property, located in Santiago de Chuco, at an altitude of 3106 meters above sea level and an average temperature of 13 ºC, with the objective of determining the effect of different levels of Guano de las Islas on the performance and quality of Spinacia oleracea L. var. Viroflay. The Guano de las Islas levels consisted of 0.0, 0.5, 0.8 and 1.0 t.ha-1 for treatments T0, T1, T2 and T3 respectively. In the experiment, conducted under field conditions in DBCA for 65 days, plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, fresh weight, dry weight, yield and spinach quality were evaluated, obtaining stimulating effects of fertilized treatments (T1, T2 and T3) on the performance and quality of spinach, with significant increases in plant height from 22.87 to 33.47 cm, in the number of leaves from 12.45 to 13.70 units, in width of 11.37 to 12.55 cm leaf, in the fresh weight of 66.85 to 85.76 g, in the dry weight of 5.92 to 6.90 g, in the yield of 27.81 to 35.67 t, and in the quality of 8% to 7%, in relation to the control treatment respectively. The exposed data were processed by ANVA analysis and the Tuckey means test at 5% significance, using the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. It is concluded that, the application of Guano de las Islas in doses of 0.8 t.ha-1 (T2) has the best numerical effect on the performance and quality of spinach.
