Insulin resistance, a condition where there is a deficient work of insulin at the cellular level, further damaging the liver, muscle and adipose tissue, manifests itself in various metabolic pathways, precisely at the level of carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolism, which affects the health quality of individuals, therefore it was proposed to demonstrate the correlation between the triglyceride-glucose index as an indicator of insulin resistance in the adult population of the district of Florencia de Mora according to gender and age group, managing to evaluate almost 3000 parents. from the Educational Institution 80818 Jorge Basadre Grohmann of the Florencia de Mora district, from there 143 people were obtained as part of our sample to be evaluated, who met the inclusion and exclusion requirements set forth, after following the proposed methodology, it was obtained that. The TG-GLU index is a good marker of MS, manifesting in all cases a tendency towards homogeneity, indicating a positive correlation of the triglyceride-glucose index as an indicator of insulin resistance in the adult population of Florencia de Mora, in addition to the cut-off point more appropriate is 9.5 for women or when values are considered without distinction of sex; while for men the best cut-off point is 9.6. In the adult population of the Florencia de Mora-La Libertad district. Therefore, the index found is evidently helpful in determining such a condition of insulin resistance, especially in situations where state resources and primary care health facilities do not have the necessary logistics to determine the special examinations that this warrants.
