The research is focused on determining the influence of the replacement of sulfide gold tailings on the concentration of arsenic V released in solution from geopolymer pastes of recycled concrete. At the same time, mechanical and physical-chemical characterization methods were applied, such as: ASTM C109 compressive strength, surface density by dimensions and FTIR functional group analysis. The application of an explanatory, applied and quantitative methodology was highlighted, with a single-factor experimental design. The sample consisted of the formation of 40 geopolymeric pastes of recycled concrete with a w/c ratio of 0.55, of different percentages of replacement tailings (5%, 10%, 15%, 20%) passing through mesh No. 200, activated with solution from NaOH to 3M. The chemical characterization was applied using the powders obtained from the formed pastes, using Method 1311: Leaching procedure for toxicity characteristics at ages of 7 and 28 days. Where leaching was carried out through a continuous stirring process for approximately 6 hours at room temperature. The resulting liquid substance was evaluated and quantified in terms of cations. Between the physical-chemical characterization of the geopolymers, an apparent density and an optimal compressive strength of 2.02 g/cm3 and 23.12 MPa were obtained. As results, it was obtained that, at higher replacement percentages of sulphurous gold tailings, lower concentrations of leached arsenic V were generated, maintaining the percentages of 15% and 20% with concentrations of 0.010 mg/L and 0.008 mg/L respectively, in the range. of the limits established by the Environmental Quality Standards (ECA). Reaching an ideal leached arsenic V concentration of 0.008 mg/L for the 20% replacement level in geopolymeric pastes of recycled concrete with replacement of sulphurous gold tailings at 7 days.
