A quantitative, descriptive, correlational study was carried out with the purpose of determining the relationship between the quality of nursing care and the intercultural practices of the postpartum women of the Toco-Surgical service of the Matilde Hidalgo Hospital of Procel de Guayaquil. The objective was to determine the relationship between quality of nursing care in the dimensions: accessible, explains, comforts, anticipates, maintains a relationship of trust, monitors, follows up and intercultural practices on food, hygiene and use of medicinal plants in the puerperal Finding the following results: The quality of nursing care was average 48%, high 39%, low 13%. Intercultural practices average 48%, inadequate 30%, adequate 22%. The quality of nursing care and intercultural practices of puerperal women, 52% of puerperal women with average quality of care: 57% presented average intercultural practices, 52% adequate and 48% inadequate. The 30% with high quality of nursing care: 30% present adequate intercultural practices, 30% inadequate and 26% average. 17% with low quality of nursing care, 22% with inadequate intercultural practices, followed by 17% with average and adequate intercultural practices respectively. There is no direct relationship between the quality of nursing care and intercultural practices.
