ABSTRACT The objective of this work was to determine under laboratory conditions the impact of Emamectin benzoate on the survival and predation capacity of Podisus nigrispinus on Spodoptera frugiperda larvae. The experiment used a completely randomized design (CRD) with a 3x5 factorial arrangement, the first factor being the type of feeding (with 3 levels: corn leaves sprayed with water as a control, corn leaves with the product at a dose of 150 g/200 liters at 0 hours before infestation and corn leaves with the product applied 6 hours before infestation; the second factor was the number of prey (4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 stage III larvae of S. frugiperda) making a total of 15 treatments with 5 replicates. The parameters evaluated were: predation capacity and survival of nymph III of Podisus nigrisinus. Evaluations were carried out 12, 18 and 22 hours after infestation. The results show that Podisus nigrispinus nymph III survived in all treatments and the predation capacity was higher in the foliage treatment without the insecticide. Therefore, it is concluded that Emamectin Benzoate does not affect the survival and predation capacity of P. nigrispinus.
