Abstract The emergence of SARS-CoV-2 in 2019 unleashed a global pandemic of COVID-19, with millions of cases and deaths. In this context, the coexistence of other diseases, such as Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) affecting the immune system, is highlighted and raises questions about the interaction with COVID-19. Although an increased risk of complications has been suggested, evidence varies. Objective: To determine the clinical-epidemiological characteristics of Sars-COV2 in adult patients with HIV infection treated at the Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo. Materials and methods: We conducted an observational, descriptive, retrospective cross-sectional study. Adult patients with HIV infection and SARS-CoV2 treated at the Clinical Unit of Tropical and Infectious Diseases of the Regional Teaching Hospital of Trujillo were surveyed and the data were presented in tables. Results: Our research was carried out in a total of 171 patients who presented varied epidemiological and clinical characteristics. Conclusion: Adult patients with HIV and SARS-CoV-2 coinfection treated at the Regional Teaching Hospital of Trujillo showed demographic diversity, mostly in the 31-45 years age group, mainly from the city of Trujillo and with unspecified occupations, indicating higher university education. Regarding clinical characteristics, the majority presented mild infections with general manifestations such as headache, as well as respiratory and other symptoms.
