ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to determine the best concentrations of plant growth regulators (PGR) such as Benzil Amino Purine (BAP) and Indole acetic acid (IAA) to obtain seedlings with high multiplication ratio in vitro in pitahaya Hylocereus undatus added to the Murashige and Skoog (MS) base culture medium generating the following treatments 2 ml/L of BAP (T1), 6 ml/L of BAP (T2), 10 ml/L of BAP (T3), 2 ml/L of BAP + 1 ml/L of IAA (T4), 6 ml/L BAP + 3 ml/L IAA (T5) y 10 ml/L of BAP + 5 ml/L of IAA(T6) and a control without PGR (T0), each treatment with 5 repetitions distributed in a completely random design, the experimental unit consisted of a polypropylene bag in which the MS medium and PGR were placed with the doses according to each treatment to subsequently sow the biological material. The variables evaluated were number of shoots, size and diameter in mm of the stems or cladodes 3 measurements were made for each variable with an interval of 30 days, renewing the culture medium at each measurement time. The analysis of variance and the Tukey test at 0.01% were performed. The dose of 10 ml/L of BAP + 5 ml/L of AIA (T6) turned out to be the best treatment, having a significant effect on the number of average buds (13 buds), stem length (15.2 mm) and stem diameter (3.6 mm) compared to what was obtained with control treatment that on the number of average buds (1 bud), stem length (9 mm) and stem diameter (2.6 mm).
