Physalis peruviana "aguaymanto" is one of the crops that in recent years is acquiring great economic importance, due to its high nutritional value, however, there is not much information regarding the germination characteristics of this crop, so this research aims to determine the effect of gibberellic acid on the germination characteristics of Physalis peruviana, Trujillo - Peru. The biological material was collected from La Hermelinda market, located in Trujillo, and the filo; which consisted of subjecting the 1200 seeds to different concrst experimental part was carried out in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Biological Sciences of the National University of Trujilo (T1: Control (distilled water), T2: 100ppm of AG3, T3: 250ppm of AG3 and T4: 500ppm of AG3) for germination, also the 90 seeds were placed in a germinator to analyse the emergence. The second experimental part was carried out in the bio-orchard located in the district of La Esperanza, Province of Trujillo, which consisted of placing the treated seeds (with different concentrations) in petri dishes, as well as measurements for germination and emergence. The highest sample average germination percentage in the experiment was for T4: 500ppm with an average of 74%. In addition, the one-factor ANOVA test showed that there is a significant difference in the germination percentage, so that the Post hoc de Tukey test allowed to determine that T4:500ppm (74%) increased the germination percentage. Also, the average emergence percentage reached in the experiment was 83.33% and the value of the variation coefficient was 7.98%, which indicates a very homogeneous behaviour of the emergence percentages of Physalis peruviana "aguaymanto" Trujillo - Peru. Concluding that the best germination percentage was treatment 4 with 500 ppm.
