The primary objective of this research was to implement safety measures on slopes to prevent accidents within the project “Expansion and Improvements of the Huaruro Countryside, Caylloma Province, Arequipa, 2022”. The methodology employed was of an applied type, with a pre-experimental design. The population consisted of all unsafe conditions in the geographical area of the work zone of the mining company “A&Q engineering construction and SS.GG. SRL”, covering the sectors of Belén, Paclla, Malata, Huaruro, in the Tapay District of the Caylloma Province, Arequipa. Hence, the sample was composed of the high-risk slopes identified in the geographical area of the mining company's work zone. The research instrument used was the risk map, as it enabled the identification and analysis of potential risks, with observation as the technique, allowing for a more in-depth analysis. The result, the predominant presence of andesites and dacites with regular rock quality was obtained. Stabilization was achieved through the use of high-strength mesh for areas with andesite rock, due to its greater resistance to uniaxial compression, and dynamic barriers for areas with dacite rock, due to its lower resistance and greater susceptibility to detachment. This resulted in a significant improvement in personnel safety, obtaining 0% critical risk, 0% major risk, 30% moderate risk and 75% low risk, and the accident rate went from 17.36 to 5.20. In conclusion, the company's accident rate has been significantly reduced with respect to slope work.
