ABSTRACT The objective of this report is to determine the consumption of antidepressants, dispensed in a pharmaceutical establishment in Chimbote from february-july 2021. The data were obtained from the database of the electronic pharmacy management system 1.1.8 F18. We worked with antidepressant drugs according to their generic or commercial names that had more turnover during the study period. To determine the percentage frequency of the medications, it was based on the calculation of the total amount of antidepressants dispensed in the establishment and grouped by month; This information was processed in Microsoft Excel 2016, this allowed us to establish comparisons and determine the cost for the units dispensed in the study period. From the data analysis, it was found that the highest percentage frequency of antidepressants with generic and commercial names in the study period was sertraline 50 mg and escipram 10 mg, with 11.41% (403 units dispensed) and 12.98 % (344 units dispensed), respectively, with the month of March being the month with the highest turnover. Regarding the economic cost of the antidepressants under study, it was determined that, taking into account the real unit price of each one of them and the number of units dispensed, they are the antidepressants that have demanded a higher economic cost with S / 1,009.80 and S / 5,282.00 respectively. It is concluded that sertraline 50 mg and escipram 10 mg are the antidepressant drugs with the highest consumption and escilatopram 10 mg, and Escipram 10 mg, the most costly.
