The study was conducted on the beach Salaverry to determine the distribution and composition of microalgal blooms during the sampling period from May to October 2014, the sampling area was bounded by three stations; Samples of both surface and bottom layer were taken; Two types of analysis were determined: qualitative and quantitative, samples for analysis were collected with a phytoplankton net 15 μm and Nansen bottle sampler with a 1.8 L capacity and fixed with 40% commercial formalin. Dissolved oxygen, salinity, temperature, and pH transparency: besides as oceanographic parameters were recorded. For qualitative analysis the direct microscopic observation method was used and the species were identified using taxonomic keys; and in quantitative analysis using a Sedgwick-Rafter chamber. It was found that the composition of microalgal blooms consisted of 41 species; of which 30 belonged to the group of diatoms, 10 dinoflagellates, 1 were silicoflagellate. The lowest density (Org. / L) microalgal also presented in July 1722 a 3518 Org. / L and the highest in August of 23 467 a 68 867 Org. / L; being the range of 1,722 a 68,867 Org. / L. The diversity calculated based on the Shannon-Wiener index ranged between 2,485 and 2,561 bits. The similarity index was Bray Curtis than 93.16%, being the maximum in (E-2F and E-3F) to 98.16%. The physical and chemical oceanographic parameters for oxygen ranged from 6.0 to 7.6 (mg/ l), salinity was 36 (ppt), temperature of 18-24 (° C), the transparency of 1.2 to 1.8 (m) and pH of 7.0 to 8.5.
