ABSTRACT Without a doubt, Chan Chan is the greatest emblematic work of the Chimú society, with a great process of urban development taking place in an increasing way several centuries ago in Peru and America, before the arrival of the conquerors; This is reflected in the set of its constructions, made entirely of clay, the management of diverse monumentality and forms, clearly human occupation, all of them defined with organized spaces, linked to administrative centers, religious ceremonies, crafts and domestic occupation. The quadrangle of Martínez Compañón is part of the intermediate architecture component of the Chan Chan Complex, and is evidenced as the only set of such type arranged in the northern area of the urban nucleus, whose definition allows us to see a wide rectangle arranged in an easterly direction. – West, it is there where this research work is focused, exactly in the South sector of the Quadrangle The excavations carried out in the southern sector of said quadrangle, provided a rich collection of study material, among which are fragments of domestic ceramics such as pots, plates, jars, among others, and artisan material such as beads, perforated shells, said information was extracted of the technical reports of the Chan Chan archaeological complex of the years 2017 and 2018. Likewise, it refers to the finding of fragments of textile material which agree with the presence of spindles, needle, piruro and cayllua.
