The research aimed to investigate three dimensions: use, frequency, and preference of websites and platforms in self-learning. The sample was made up of 116 students from the fourth and fifth year of high school at the República de Panamá educational institution in the city of Trujillo. The information on the dimensions was collected through a questionnaire of twenty questions, which were processed with the help of Excel software. The results of the 20 items raised in the questionnaire resulted in a success rate of 70%, therefore, the students of the fourth and fifth grade of secondary education at the I.E., 81001 Republic of Panama if they prefer to frequently use websites and platforms for self-learning. Finally, this research shares the same conclusions of some researchers such as Romero (2020) who pointed out that websites and platforms develop a high cognitive load in the student when learning on their own, Hernández (2019) who indicated that websites generate student autonomy when they study on their own, Manosalvas (2018) who concluded that the social aspect of the student is developed when self-learning through websites.
