Mindfulness is a technique that has gathered great praise for its contributions to mental health. Its focus, in present time, has allowed many people, including children, to reduce their symptoms of anxiety, improving their well being and gaining positive reinforcement in themselves and in their surroundings. This present study had as a goal to learn, through a systematic revision, the effectiveness of mindfulness based interventions as a treatment of anxiety in children. To accomplish this goal, databases such as PubMed, Web of Science and Scopus were studied. Moreover, the PRISMA flow chart was used to organize the information gathered. It was taken into consideration research from 2017 to 2024 and it was established that the age of the children in the study would be from 5 to 12 years old. The words “effectiveness”, “mindfulness”, “mindfulness based cognitive therapy”, “intervention”, “anxiety”, “children”, were used. This search was conducted on October 2024, and only articles in english were taken into consideration. Initially, 482 articles were found. But after a thorough analysis that took into consideration the title and the summaries, 16 articles were selected, and finally, after a methodological review, we ended up with 6 articles for this present study. The results show that mindfulness has a small effect on reducing anxiety in children. For this reason, it would be convenient to expand the research in order to generalize the results.
